Social captions on stills
Saved Snaps, Stories and chat exports often bake the caption into the pixels. Erase the text and rebuild whatever sat behind it — including soft glow on dark photos — so the moment is reusable without the old line.
Screenshot labels and UI chrome
Wipe sticker text, status strings or in-app labels before you redesign App Store slides or article stills. Select text with Keep selected when a clock or carrier name should stay while the rest goes.
Same photo, next line
Once the old caption is gone, Edit places the next line on the clean plate — or export into your usual tool. You are not redesigning the frame from scratch.
Caption vs solid bar
Lettering clears with All text or Select. An opaque colour slab under a lower-third or subtitle strip may need Brush on the slab after the glyphs go. Soft white captions on busy backgrounds usually clear in one All-text pass; compare at 100% on faces and edges near the band.
Which tool when
All text when every overlay should disappear. Select when you want some chrome to stay (status bar, logo lockup). Brush when OCR did not box a hand-drawn sticker or a faint corner badge. Edit is for writing the next caption on the rebuilt plate — not for the erase pass itself.
Reuse without redesigning the plate
Same photo, new copy: clear the caption first, then write the next line in Edit or export into your design tool. Download matches the canvas, including Edit. Uploads on the free product delete after one hour — save the clean plate before you leave.
Questions
How do I remove a caption from a photo?
Upload the still and run All text. The line and its glow leave together. Select if a clock or logo should stay; Brush a hand-drawn sticker detection missed.
Does it work on Snapchat or Stories screenshots?

What if a solid colour bar is left?
That slab is colour, not type. Brush it after the glyphs are gone. For a film still with burned-in dialogue, use the Subtitles page.
